Dr. Sophia da Silva-Oolup and Dr. Judith Wells have completed additional certification courses in acupuncture and are able to effectively incorporate acupuncture into their treatment plans.

Acupuncture is considered an effective treatment approach aimed at reducing and/or relieving pain and improving muscle function and activity. A thin, disposable needle is inserted into the skin and tissue in specific areas of the body.

Acupuncture stimulates the body to produce its own pain relieving chemicals called endorphins.  The improved energy and biomechanical balance produced by acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities. Acupuncture is often used as an effective adjunct to manual therapy treatments.

Acupuncture is very effective in treating a variety of painful disorders such as:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Shin Splints
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome
